NW Career & Technical Academy

Northwest Career and Technical Academy (NCTA) is affiliated with several school districts in Skagit, Island, and Whatcom County. 

It provides free technical and professional training for high school students in technical fields in high demand. 

Students will participate in experienced-based hands-on learning while earning high school credits. Some programs will allow students to gain college credit and/or industry-specific certifications. 

The Northwest Career and Technical Academy has several learning campuses: Mount Vernon, Sedro-Woolley, Bellingham, and Anacortes.

The main campus for NCTA is located in Mount Vernon, WA (Next to Skagit Community College). 

Main Campus: Mount Vernon (close to Skagit Community College). 

ALL NCTA programs run on the Mount Vernon School District Schedule. 

Each program is a YEAR LONG course. 

Most courses offer AM or PM programs. 

Student will attend TWO classes EACH DAY at NCTA and SWHS.

 Course Offerings

 Who Can Apply to NCTA

  • High School Juniors and Seniors

  • It is recommended that are ON-TRACK with credits for graduation.

When Can I Apply? 

  • Juniors and Seniors are encouraged to apply in the Fall, however students are allowed to apply second semester.

  • To apply for second semester, your HS Counselor must approve the request. 

Transportation? 

  • Transportation is provided to courses offered in Mount Vernon and Anacortes. 

  • Transportation is NOT provided to courses in Bellingham. 

     

  • Students are ALLOWED to transport themselves to and from SWHS and NCTA Campus.
