Today was Taste Washington Day in the Sedro-Woolley School District. Students enjoyed fresh, local ingredients sourced by our amazing Food Services Department.
For breakfast, students were treated to fruit and yogurt parfaits with creamy yogurt from Grace Harbor Farms and berries from NW Berry Coop. Sedro-Woolley High School offered smoothies made with local strawberries!
At lunch, students dug into 100% beef hot dogs from Three Sisters Farm, crunchy rainbow carrots, crisp apples, and juicy pearsβall grown right here in Washington.










The Sedro-Woolley School District is accepting nominations for the annual Sedro-Woolley School District Community Recognition Awards. We'd like to invite you to nominate individuals whom you think deserve any of the esteemed awards. It is a great opportunity to acknowledge the hard work, dedication, and innovation of those who have significantly impacted our community.
The nomination categories are:
β’ Hall of Fame β To honor SWHS students who excelled athletically, an individual who has achieved distinction as a former student-athlete.
β’ Hall of Fame β To honor SWHS students who excelled academically an individual who has achieved distinction as a former student.
β’ District-Wide Recognition β Acknowledge current exemplary efforts within the school system that goes beyond typical measures of accomplishment.
β’ Memorial Recognition β To honor posthumously an individual who has rendered outstanding service to the community or demonstrated loyal support for the Sedro-Woolley School District.
β’ Community Recognition β An individual who has rendered outstanding service to the community or demonstrated loyal support for the Sedro-Woolley School District.

This bilingual position (Spanish speaking preferred) will begin on October 7, 2024, with hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Taste Washington Day this Wednesday, October 2! This special day gives our students the chance to connect with our stateβs rich agricultural heritage.
Sedro-Woolley School District's Food Services Department has been hard at work sourcing fresh, local ingredients to highlight on this special day.
For Breakfast:
π₯£ All schools will serve fruit and yogurt parfaits made with creamy vanilla yogurt from Grace Harbor Farms in Custer and locally grown blueberries and raspberries from NW Berry Coop in Everson.
π Sedro-Woolley High School will also offer smoothies featuring local strawberries from NW Berry Coop.
For Lunch:
π Elementary schools and Cascade Middle School will enjoy 100% beef hot dogs with franks from Three Sisters Farm on Whidbey Island.
π₯ Coleslaw made with fresh cabbage and carrots from Ralph's Greenhouse in Mount Vernon.

Sedro-Woolley High School celebrated Homecoming tonight with our annual lip sync contest! Emcee David Bricka kicked off the event by sharing his yearbook from 1975 and a vintage Homecoming button. Fun fact: back in the day, Homecoming royalty had to sell these buttons as part of the contest! β¨
This year, each class performed themed lip syncs based on different biomes:
π Class of 2025: Aquatic β Highlights from Under the Sea and Pirates of the Caribbean.
π΄ Class of 2026: Jungle β A little Welcome to the Jungle with scenes from Jumanji.
π¦ Class of 2027: Savanna β Safari adventures with The Lion King.
π Class of 2028: Alpine/Mountains β The Big Bad Wolf met the Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood.
After the performances, we crowned our 2024 Homecoming Royalty! π Huge congratulations to Logan Roth and Hallee Christy, our Homecoming King and Queen, and all the members of this yearβs court. π

Bethany Loweβs first-grade class at Central Elementary School had an exciting day yesterday learning about plant parts! π± Her lesson got a big boost when her parents brought in a 12-foot tall mammoth sunflower to share with the students. π»
The fun didn't stop there! The kids also got creative with sunflower crafts and even decorated sunflower cookies as part of this fall-themed lesson. πͺπ¨

The Sedro-Woolley High School FCCLA Culinary Club is hosting this yearβs Homecoming Pasta Feed TONIGHT, September 26, from 5:30 - 7 p.m. in the cafeteria! All proceeds will go to a newly established "Charitable Donation" account through the ASB, aimed at supporting students and families facing hardships in our communityβsuch as medical crises, homelessness, or loss of home due to fire or flooding.
π²Prices:
$10 for adults
$7 for children (up to 6th grade) & seniors (65+)
To-go boxes & a donation jar will be available!
