Today we celebrate Sedro-Woolley High School Class of 2026 graduate Ryan Madsen.

Ryan plans to either wrestle in college or enter the workforce after graduation. She is considering colleges such as Evergreen State University and Eastern Oregon University. Ryan is interested in becoming a teacher or a sports photographer. A meaningful achievement during her time at SWHS was going 42–8 in her senior wrestling season and placing fourth at state.

Chloe plans on attending Montana State University. Chloe is interested in a career in biomedical research. A meaningful achievement during their time at SWHS includes her time volunteering for the greater Skagit community. Being a multi-year VIV (Varsity in Volunteerism) recipient also has been a great honor.

Jovany plans to begin an apprenticeship to start his career and gain new experiences. He is interested in becoming a carpenter. A meaningful achievement during his time at SWHS was staying consistent and improving his grades over time, even when things were challenging. Finishing strong in his final year is something he is proud of.

Three Sedro-Woolley elementary schools have been recognized through the Washington School Recognition Program for their progress in supporting student success:

• Samish Elementary School

Each school earned recognition in the Closing Gaps: Targeted category—highlighting meaningful progress in improving outcomes and reducing opportunity gaps for student groups.

This recognition reflects growth across multiple measures, including student learning and progress over time.

Today we celebrate Sedro-Woolley High School Class of 2026 graduate Kaitlyn Edson.

Kaitlyn plans to attend Skagit Valley College to earn her Registered Nurse degree, then transfer to a university to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is interested in a career as a pediatric critical care nurse. Her favorite memories from high school include the friendships she built and playing tennis.

Evangeline plans to join the National Guard as a combat medic. After completing military training and earning her National EMT certification, she plans to join a firefighter residency program and work toward her Fire 1 and Fire 2 certifications. She hopes to become a firefighter like her brother and sister-in-law. A meaningful achievement during her time at SWHS was earning a varsity letter in three sports.

The Cascade Middle School band and choir recently traveled to regional festivals and represented our community with professionalism and pride.

Both groups earned superior ratings for their performances on stage and received many compliments for their behavior and conduct throughout the day.

We are proud of the way our students represent Sedro-Woolley — in their performance, their preparation, and how they carry themselves wherever they go.
