The Mary Purcell Library hosted its annual escape room the week of March 31st. This year was science-themed, with students solving riddles using scientific ideas, their knowledge of inventors, and searching for clues hidden in books.
Grades 2 through 6 were invited to participate, with teamwork being an integral part of the challenge. Different stations were set up throughout the room with students breaking up into teams for each puzzle. The clues from each station were then used to unlock the gate and stop the clock, in hopes of having the fastest time and winning the coveted pizza party!
Every class gave forth its best efforts and developed a deeper understanding of scientific principles and utilizing the resources available in the library. Students really enjoyed the multi-faceted challenge of adding hands-on science and research to escape the Science Fair!
