CMS students work together to solve escape room puzzles as part of the Viking Escape Room.

Seventh-grade history students at Cascade Middle School recently put their knowledge of Vikings and Norse mythology to the test in an exciting and immersive escape room experience. Under the guidance of teachers Rebecca Lewis and Brenna Zavala, students worked together to solve a series of clues and complete their Norse God Quest.

Their mission? To help Thor find his mighty hammer, Mjollnir, before the fearsome serpent Jormungand could destroy Asgard and the Aesir gods. Using their critical thinking skills, teamwork, and lessons from class, students searched for hidden clues, deciphered maps and symbols, and pieced together the puzzle to complete their quest.

The interactive activity not only reinforced their understanding of Norse mythology but also encouraged problem-solving, collaboration, and attention to detail. By following hints, carefully examining the room, and working as a team, students successfully cracked the codes and saved Asgard!

This hands-on approach to learning brought history to life, making the unit on Vikings an unforgettable experience for Cascade Middle School students.
