With a decade of service within the Sedro-Woolley School District, Julie's commitment to education and student success shines through in her experiences and aspirations. Originally from Massachusetts, Julie's journey to the Pacific Northwest began after her marriage in 1992. Over the years, she traversed the country, living in California and Utah before settling back in Washington in 2013. Her husband's teaching job in the Skagit Valley provided the opportunity for Julie to join the Sedro-Woolley School District, a move that aligned with her passion for teaching. Julie boasts an extensive educational background spanning 32 years, primarily focusing on early education. Holding ELL endorsements in both Washington and California, Julie transitioned into her current role as an MLL Specialist upon her return to Washington. Her dedication to supporting multilingual learners underscores her professional journey. Despite her long-standing career in education, Julie humorously recalls childhood aspirations of becoming a raisin maker, juxtaposed against her unwavering desire to teach. Reflecting on her career, Julie finds fulfillment in witnessing her students' growth over the years, cherishing the opportunity to maintain connections long after they leave her classroom. Beyond the school walls, Julie's hobbies revolve around her home life, where she enjoys the company of her husband and three cats. “I am passionate about my cats,” she said. “I am definitely a ‘crazy cat mom.’” An avid reader and nature enthusiast, Julie finds solace in her yard, observing the wildlife that frequents her property. Looking to the future, Julie aims to retire within the next five years, hoping to continue engaging with her students through volunteering or part-time work at Mary Purcell. Her dedication to her students transcends the classroom, embodying her commitment to their success and well-being. In imparting wisdom to her students, Julie emphasizes the importance of making choices that lead to personal growth and fulfillment. “Make good choices that take you in the right direction. Choose the right friends, choose to try your best in school, and choose to do something that you love to do.” Her hope for Sedro-Woolley students extends beyond academic success, wishing for them to embrace their potential and pursue fulfilling lives.

He enjoys hanging out with his family and friends, working out, lifting weights, running and listening to music. Cameron has been on our Track and Field team for 2 years, and runs hurdles. Sedro-Woolley High School CAMP (Cubs Advocating for Mental Health and Prevention) students Alexia Ceja, Madelyn Faisy, and Shelby Richardson, along with club advisors LeAnn Greer and Olivia Guelich, and RISE (Rallying to Inspire Safe Environments) co-coordinator Jill Sprouse attended the CADCA (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America) Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C. last week. As part of the forum, students and advisors attended Capitol Hill Day with students from Burlington-Edison High School where they met with U.S. Congressman Rick Larsen and U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell to share their experiences with issues affecting teens in our community.

With five years of experience within the district, and 31 years total in education, she brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her role. Born and raised here, she graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1988. Contrary to her current path in education, as a 12-year-old in Mr. Fitzgerald's 6th-grade class, she envisioned herself pursuing a career in law. However, her aspirations evolved during high school, ultimately leading her to the field of education. Carrie holds a master's degree in education and is nationally board certified. She cherishes moments when former students approach her with fond memories of their time in her classes, underscoring the impact she has had on their lives. Last year, she received the honor of being named Central's Employee of the Year, a testament to her dedication and positive influence. Outside the classroom, she enjoys spending time outdoors and at her cabin in Danville. Carrie's passion lies in teaching and creating a safe space for students to feel a sense of belonging. Her professional goal is to conclude her career in her hometown, while leaving an enduring impact on the students she encounters. Her advice to students is simple: follow your dreams but always remember where you come from. For Carrie, Sedro-Woolley School District is more than an educational institution; it's a family. She hopes that every student takes away the understanding that the district will always be a place they can come back to, fostering a sense of belonging and community.

He has earned many athletic awards over the last few years including First Team All-Conference 2022 Defensive Lineman, Second Team All-Conference 2023 Wrestling, Northwest Conference Co-Wrestler of the Year 2023. Julian took 8th place at State for wrestling in February 2023. Outside of school, Julian enjoys spending time with his friends and family, weight lifting, listening to music, and attending Church. The most important thing to Julian is his faith, which drives him to conquer any obstacle or challenge that life throws at him. During football season, you can find Julian helping out with the Sedro-Woolley Youth Football League. He also helps with a Christmas sponsorship program, wrapping and delivering presents to those in need. After graduation, Julian plans to attend a Junior-College to play football, and will later transfer to a university to continue his football career, and to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Marketing. During football season, you can find Julian helping out with the Sedro-Woolley Youth Football League. He also helps with a Christmas sponsorship program, wrapping and delivering presents to those in need. After graduation, Julian plans to attend a Junior-College to play football, and will later transfer to a university to continue his football career, and to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Marketing.
