During Fire Prevention Week, we’re reminding our families about simple yet effective measures we can take to ensure our homes are safe from fire hazards. One such measure is to turn pot handles toward the back of the stove. This helps prevent accidental bumps or pulls that could cause hot liquids to spill and cause burns. We encourage every family to take a moment and review their fire safety plans. Remember, fire prevention is everyone's responsibility. Let's work together to keep our homes and loved ones safe. #StrongerTogetherSWSD #FirePreventionWeek

Today, October 4, is Picture Day at Evergreen Elementary School!
On Wednesday, October 4, we celebrate Taste Washington Day in the Sedro-Woolley School District! This special day is an opportunity for schools across the state to showcase locally grown items on their menus. For breakfast, we will be serving a delicious yogurt and fruit parfait made with vanilla yogurt from Grace Harbor Farms in Lynden and frozen blueberries from Barbie's Berries in Ferndale. For lunch, we have a menu that includes juicy Tsugaru apples from Bellewood Acres in Bellingham, sweet Anjou pears from Smallwood Farms in Okanogan, crisp cucumbers from Hayton Farms in Skagit Valley, colorful rainbow cherry tomatoes (in prepared salads) from Osprey Hill Farm in Acme, and organic carrots from Ralph's Greenhouse in Mount Vernon. We hope you join us in celebrating local farmers and enjoy these fresh and tasty items on our school menus.
