
Ronaldo Plascencia has been named as one of the January Soroptimist Students of the Month. Ronaldo is a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School.
Ronaldo enjoys making connections with people, helping people, reading the Bible, and showing others Christβs love. He is a very active person and enjoys doing hands-on activities. He has had experiences in his life as a young kid where he had to make a choice, to change his path, and thatβs exactly what heβs done. He is a member of the Harvest Vision Ministries, which is a 501-C3 non profit organization. He is guided by Christ and loves to share His word with others.
CTE classes here at SWHS have helped shape his future goals by helping him learn skills that he can practice in the real world. βHands-on work is a great thing to have in our schools,β he states.
After high school, Ronaldo plans to go straight into the workforce as a missionary. Congratulations Ronaldo!


Savannah Harp has been named as one of the January Soroptimist Students of the Month. Savannah is a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School.
Savannah enjoys spending time with friends and family, doing nails and makeup, painting and drawing. She loves practicing nail designs and experimenting with different nail colors.
CTE classes here at SWHS have helped shape her future goals by helping her learn math, and retain math knowledge, and she has learned the importance of what it takes to run a business.
After high school, Savannah plans to attend Skagit Valley College to obtain a business degree. Following, she would like to attend Evergreen Beauty College to obtain a cosmetology and esthetician license. Her long term career goal is to own her own salon one day. Congratulations Savannah!


Logan Nasin has been named as one of the December Soroptimist Students of the Month. Logan is a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School.
Logan enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, and spending time with friends. He currently plays Lacrosse and Varsity Football. Logan volunteers for the Skagit Valley Flyers Lacrosse program and referees youth lacrosse in the spring. He is a member of the STEAM Club and National Honor Society.
CTE classes here at SWHS have helped shape his future goals by giving him useful skills that he can use when he is older. These classes have helped him realize he wants to continue his studies in the engineering field.
After high school, Logan will be attending Skagit Valley College to obtain a transfer degree, then later transferring to Western Washington University to study engineering. Congratulations Logan!

Josephine Sherman has been named as one of the December Soroptimist Students of the Month. Josephine is a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School.
Josephine enjoys reading, hiking around the Pacific Northwest, spending time with super cute animals, and styling hair and makeup looks.
CTE classes here at SWHS have helped shape her future goals by teaching her all about agriculture. Classes here have really shaped her love for agriculture and has given her real life experiences.
After high school, Josephine is keeping her options open. Right now she is considering cosmetology school, becoming a memory care giver, going into education or agriculture. She is also considering studying plant design. Congratulations Josephine!

Due to power outages affecting multiple schools, all Sedro-Woolley School District schools will operate on a two-hour delay today. Buses will be running on regular routes unless you are contacted by the Transportation Department.
Adjusted Start Times (Based on Regular Start Times, Including Late-Start Wednesdays):
Elementary Schools: 11:25 a.m.
Cascade Middle School: 9:40 a.m.
Sedro-Woolley High School: 9:55 a.m.
State Street High School: 10:00 a.m.
Pick-Up Times:
Buses will arrive two hours later than normal at your childβs designated stop.
Cancellations & Changes:
π No Out-of-District Transportation Will Be Available for McKinney-Vento students
π Transportation will be provided for AM/PM Northwest Career & Technical Academy (NCTA Skills Center), regular special education, hearing-impaired.

π« No Morning Preschool Programs: This includes Good Beginnings, Samish Cooperative, Cub Club, and Y at Good Beginnings Preschool. Afternoon classes will operate as normal.
β³ Head Start & Early Head Start: These programs (located next to Evergreen Elementary) will follow the school district's delayed schedule.
π« No Before-School Programs: This includes before-school music at Cascade Middle School.
π½οΈ Breakfast: Will not be served, except at Sedro-Woolley High School, State Street High School, and Cascade Middle School. Please note, because of the power outage, cold breakfast might be served in place of a hot breakfast.

Before-School Meetings: Child-specific special education meetings will be rescheduled.
π Field Trips: All field trips within and outside the district are canceled.
