The Mount Vernon School District is excited to be hosting Austina De Bonte, former President of the Northwest Gifted Child Association and nationally recognized expert on the cognitive, social and emotional development of Highly Capable children. Her presentation is titled: Smart Is Not Easy: What Research Says About Highly Capable Learners.
The presentation will take place on Monday, Nov. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mount Vernon High School Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. The discussion is geared toward parents, teachers and administrators. While students are welcome to attend, the content will be dense and it may be difficult for some children to maintain attention. Spanish translation will be provided at the event. Please complete this Google Form if you plan to attend.

In honor of the 40th* Annual Turkey Trot, many Cascade Middle School teachers dressed up in their Gobble-Gobble Best. The first Turkey Trot at CMS was held in 1983!
Please use caution today on McGarigle Road between Township and Fruitdale as students participate in the event at 9:45 a.m.
*The trot was done individually at home in 2020 when students were remote.

🌟 Starting Monday, November 20, we're rolling out a new and improved entrance at Cascade Middle School. 🏫🚗
🅿️ Parking Lot Changes:
🚗 New Entrance & One-Way Access: The main parking lot (located on McGarigle Road) will have designated one-way access to parking spots from the new entrance.
🛑 New Exit Only: The new exit configuration will allow for smoother traffic flow.
🚧 Temporary Changes:
🚸 We are working on more permanent signage and painting in the parking lot.
🌦️ Due to inclement weather, we'll have to wait a bit before painting can commence.
Your cooperation is appreciated as we enhance the safety and efficiency of our school parking lot. 🙌
